WHAT IS TANG SOO DO?

     It is an ancient Korean Art of empty hand and foot fighting for conditioning and self-defense.  It literally translates to "Tang Open Hand Way".  Although rooted in tradition, it is based upon a scientific approach in the use of the body for self-defense.  It accents the passive, rather than the aggressive approach to confrontations - without relinquishing human dignity.  The development of the legs and superior kicking techniques are some of the characteristics of TANG SOO DO.  Essentially, TANG SOO DO has been designed to develop and individuals body, mind, and spirit.  This in turn enhances one's character, integrity and respect for all living things.

WHY STUDY TANG SOO DO?

     TANG SOO DO is an approach to a way of life that develops one's self-confidence, honor, fitness and control.  An individual's development is realized through the training in the various techniques, self-defense, philosophy and non-contact fighting.  Being aerobic, it is excellent in promoting weight control and a general feeling of well-being.

WHO CAN STUDY TANG SOO DO?

     Anyone who has a desire to learn and develop the resources of their physical and inner abilities, can study TANG SOO DO.  Progress is on an individual basis, and therefore, requires personal commitment.
     Open to women, children, and men, TANG SOO DO has no equal in power and effectiveness.
